Daden Limited is committed to protecting your privacy online. We are also committed to providing you with the very best experience we can on our Web sites and Phone services. In order to enhance your experience at our site we may gather certain personal information about you that helps us customize our content to your tastes and preferences. Please read the following policy to understand how your personal information will be treated as you make full use of our Web site. This policy may change from time to time so please check back periodically.
What information do we collect?
Daden collects information in several ways from different parts of our Web site.
Daden collects your e-mail address when you register as a user, request a document, or register for our newsletter. We may from time to time use it to send you announcements about our services, but these announcements will be no more frequently than every month.
In addition to the information we collect when you register, we may ask you for personal information at other times, including (but not limited to) when you sign up to a chargeable service, when you request a document, when you enter promotions or contests, when you respond to a survey or when you fill out a contact form. For example, when you sign up to a chargeable service, we collect several items of personal information, including your billing and shipping address, telephone number, credit card information, and any other information necessary to complete the transaction. In addition we may capture “lifestyle” data such as household income, occupation etc.
We also collect Calling Line Indicator (i.e. your telephone number) whenever you dial into our voice lines. If you wish to with-hold your number you may do so by dialling 147 before our portal number – however with-holding your number may mean that certain advanced features which rely on knowing your identity may not work. – see below.
We also collect IP addresses for system administration and to report aggregate information to our suppliers, sponsors and advertisers.
In addition our chatbots may collect,or be given, a wide variety of information, some personal, as part of their conversations with you. Basic data such as name and email address we may use to contact you, either by chatbot or human. Other personal data that you provide will only be used by the chatbot in future conversations with you. Please note that the chatbots do have a “gossip” feature and may repeat some of your statements to other users – but you will only be identified by the name you have given, and so the information will not be traceable to you.
What information do parties other than Daden collect?
What are “cookies” and how do we use them?
Cookies are small bits of data that are sent to your browser and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Your cookie may be set at various times during your interaction with our Web site. It is updated from time to time as you access the many different portions of our Web site. Each time you access our site, our server may deliver certain customized information to you based on the data stored in your cookie.
Some advertisers or Web sites that have links on our site may use their own cookies.
What do we do with the information we collect?
Daden’s primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide you, the user, with the best experience on our Web site. The information we collect may be used to provide such capabilities as personalization services, interactive communications, online shopping, and drive the development of new features. We may also use the information to estimate the size of our audience and measure certain traffic patterns, to notify you and track the progress and number of entries in our promotions and contests, to track visits to and business conducted at our online store, to notify our visitors about updates to our Web site, to contact you for marketing purposes, and less likely but conceivably to contact you on behalf of certain third parties and deliver targeted advertisements that may be of interest to you.
With whom do we share your information and for what purpose?
Since we make use of third party providers to deliver some of our services, we may need to share basic technical information with them, or use them to pass information between Daden and yourself during the operation of a service. In particular we make use of companies in the USA (Oddcast Inc), Eire (Voxpilot) and Monaco (Monaco Telecom).
We may conceivably use personal information explicitly provided by you to help provide you with relevant information on products and services from specially selected third parties, or sell or trade this information to specially selected companies who may also be able to provide you with relevant products and services- although we currently have no plans to do so.
In addition, when you make a purchase through our online store, or sign up to receive promotional items from us, we may share some of your personal information with third parties helping us to complete your transaction or send you the items you signed up to receive. When we share your information with such third parties, we will work to ensure that only the information necessary to complete your transaction is disclosed.
When one or more of our business partners co-sponsor a service, promotion and/or contest, we may collect and share additional information in connection with that service, promotion or contest with the co-sponsor(s). If we intend to share such information, you will be notified prior to the collection of that information. If you do not want your information to be shared, you will be able to choose not to allow the transfer by not using or signing up for that particular service, promotion or contest.
What about Telephone Numbers?
When you access any of our Voice Portal services using a voice telephone (not WAP) we also collect your telephone number using the “CLI” code passed by your phone. We principally use this number to populate your user profile automatically to save you having to type it in, and also to ensure that we have it in a format that we can use. The number would principally only be used when you sign up to services provided by us which require information to be “pushed” to your phone, e.g. by SMS,or when we need to contact you by voice for a service reason (eg you’ve won a competition or have reported a problem). We may, from time-to-time use this number to send you an SMS update about a new service, but such mailing will not be more than once a month and the cost is borne by us. We do not typically release your telephone number to any third party.
Remember that if you are concerned about releasing your telephone number you can usually precede the dialled number with 147 to block the issue of the CLI.
Should you wish to view the data that we hold on you under your rights as a Data Subject under the Data Protection Act 1984 then please either email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or write to us at: Faraday Wharf, Birmingham Science Park Aston, Holt Street, Birmingham, B7 4BB. We may raise a small charge for the provision of the data.
