Tom Werner from Brandon-Hall, "an independent research firm that provides advice and insight on workforce development and talent management technologies, trends and issues" covers the luanch of PIVOTE.
"Daden Limited has developed PIVOTE, an open-source tool for authoring learning exercises for virtual worlds.
The key point about PIVOTE is that the structure and content of an exercise is stored on the web, not in the virtual world.
This means that:
* The exercise could be played in multiple virtual worlds (Second Life, OpenSim, Forterra, Wonderland, etc.) without having to author and program it in each of those worlds.
* The exercise could be played by the learner on the web without going into a virtual world (for example, as a review beforehand).
This is a big step." (our emphasis)
