As an example of how our chatbots can make use of web services we have interfaced Halo to Amazon's web service beta. This lets Halo look up a book title and find its author, price, or even get a review. To use say:
- Who wrote TITLE
- How much is TITLE
- Give me a review of TITLE
Or just ask Halo "how do I use amazon"
Amazon are using amazon.com as the base for their web services tests, so prices and links are in dollars and to the US version. As soon as the UK version is available we'll link to that as well.
The fact is, of course, that the web service could be anything, not just Amazon. It's just a great example of how chatbots can leverage existing systems in new and exciting ways.
