About Us

Daden Limited is a virtual worlds and AI solution provider based in Birmingham, UK. We offer consultation, design and build services in virtual worlds, and have special expertise in the areas of web and real world integration, and creating interactive virtual personalities.

We also believe in pushing back the boundaries of chatbot capability, with the aim of helping to create the most advanced "precursor-AI's" possible.

We have been working on chatbots for over 10 years, and our showpiece chatbot - Halo - was a contender in the global 2004 Chatterbox Challenge being placed in the Top 10 in two categories, and a finalist in the 2008 BCS Machine Intelligence competition.

We come from a client background. We know what it means to work in corporate environments and to run on limited budgets. We know that results are more important than awards (but that doesn't stop us trying for both!). We constantly help our clients to punch above their weight and deliver sustainable competitive advantage.

Daden is managed by David Burden. David has over 30 years of business, marketing and technology experience.

David Burden started his career in army communications managing a range of mobile and wireless systems in a variety of challenging situations, including second-in-command of an airmobile Signal Squadron.

David founded Daden, a Virtual Worlds and Information 2.0 Consultancy in 2004.

David has been involved in virtual worlds since the mid 1990s, having created early spaces using VRML and played in several early 3D communal worlds. David's first virtual home was at Retsmah Crossing in Alpha World and he spent much of the early naughties hoverboarding off the slopes of Nene's Peak - the giant volcano in There. David has been in Second Life since 2004 where his real-life and SL business Daden Limited helps businesses and organisations explore the social and commercial potential of virtual worlds. David also has a keen interest in artificial intelligence and Daden have an AI platform for use both in SL and on the web.

Why not buy a copy of Rory Cellan-Jones' Dot.Bomb: The Strange Death of Dot.Com...? David's sole claim to fame is that he gets twice as many entries in the index as Steve Jobs!

And for those of you who are curious, Daden means "action" and "achievement" in Dutch. The Dutch translation of "actions speak louder than words" is Geen woorden maar daden, literally "no words, but actions!".
