The number in an icon shows how many stories there are for that country. A blank icon represents a single story.
- Green icons are general flu stories
- Blue icons should show news of new cases
- Red icons show stories mentioning H5N1

Bird Flu data in Google Earth

Whilst Google Maps is a great way to get a quick geographic feel for a particular dataset, Google Earth is the tool to use if you want to view the Bird Flu data alongside other datasets and in a completely browsable Whole Earth globe.
To look at the Bird Flu feed in Google Earth:
1. First, install Google Earth (it's free) from http://earth.google.com.
2. Click on this link to load the Bird Flu dynamic layer:
http://www.daden.co.uk/newsglobe/birdflu.kmz
...which will automatically install the Bird Flu feed.
Once installed make sure you save the feed from your temporary folder to your My Places folder in Google Earth, otherwise you'll have to reload it each time. Once loaded the feed will refresh each time you launch Google Earth keeping you up to date with Bird Flu news.
